Earth EdVentures
The Wander Center's Environmental Education Program
Arguably TWC's most significant initiative aims to engage and educate YOUTH about environmental issues, as we firmly believe it is one of the most influential actions that can be taken in the ongoing fight for environmental health.
We have created a hands-on, experiential, fun, and incentivized learning experience for young students and their families that focuses on getting youth of all ages, personalities, and backgrounds to engage in environmental and outdoor activities and behaviors. We believe learning and connection happens most effectively when children witness Earth’s wonders for themselves, instead of only reading about them!

What
The Wander Center’s Environmental Education (EE) Program: Earth EdVentures is an incentive-based program aimed to improve student’s environmental literacy, appreciation, understanding, and skills.
Students are given an “environmental checklist” with items that, when completed, earn them points. At the end of the program, students and/or classrooms with the most points win prizes!
Why
Environmental awareness and sustainability are essential for the survival of our planet as we know it. EE resources are vast, but EARLY EE and EE-focused learning is still lacking and a missed opportunity to raise future generations deeply connected to and aware of the environmental issues the world is facing and is going to face.
We know our childhood largely shapes who we become. It shapes the values and behaviors we base our choices and habits off of. Our children will grow into the decision-makers, educators, and policy-makers of the world, and it is as important as ever that environmental literacy and respect are a part of the knowledge base backing up those responsibilities.
